About

The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.” – Henry Miller, via Keri Smith’s Living Out Loud

Laura E. Hall has been playing and creating imaginary worlds since her childhood, and never grew out of wanting to live in a treehouse. She currently lives in Texas and tries to incorporate elements of play into her everyday life.

Things I like:

- building in-game collections (like fossils in Animal Crossing)

- puzzle games, despite me being a bit rubbish at puzzles

- escape room games

- Alternate Reality Games and immersive fiction (I played Perplex City for two and a half years and am now playing Find The Lost Ring) – I’m particularly drawn to the communities that emerge around these games

- GPS and location-based games, like geocaching and Plundr

- playful design elements

- using games to make navigating life easier (a la Chore Wars)

Other favorite games include: Monkey Island series, Space Channel Five, Katamari Damacy, The Neverhood
